USA Lab — Laboratory Equipment Store
Search, Structure and a Storefront Rebuild

USA Lab supplies laboratory and extraction equipment across the United States — thousands of SKUs, dozens of brands, and buyers who arrive already knowing the spec they need. We ran the store through a full cycle: technical SEO, off-page promotion, a redesign of the templates that carry the catalog, and the design work behind them.

THE CHALLENGE

Client’s Challenge

A catalog store lives on two things at once: whether a search engine can read the structure, and whether a buyer can move from a category to the right unit without friction. With thousands of SKUs spread across brands, capacities and lab disciplines, both get harder every time the catalog grows.

So the work was never one discipline. It ran along the whole chain — how pages are built for search, how authority is earned outside the site, and how the storefront behaves for someone comparing three pumps in three open tabs.

  • Hundreds of category, brand and product pages competing for the same technical queries
  • Product pages that have to satisfy a spec-driven engineer and a crawler in the same layout
  • A niche where manufacturers and large distributors hold the first screen of search results
  • A storefront that must stay readable on a phone as the assortment keeps expanding

OUR METHODOLOGY

How We Worked

01

Technical SEO audit

Full crawl of the catalog: indexation, canonicals, sitemaps, response codes, structured data and how category filters behave for a crawler.

02

Semantic core and relevance map

Queries clustered by intent and mapped to real pages — category, brand, product — so every cluster has one page that owns it.

03

On-page

Titles, descriptions and headings written against those clusters; internal linking and product schema so listings can qualify for rich results.

04

Off-page promotion

External link building with topical donors — the part of the work that decides whether a technical page can compete with manufacturer domains.

05

Redesign and UI/UX

Home, category and product templates reworked around the way this catalog is actually browsed: filters, specs, price, next step.

06

Design and QA

Design system applied across the templates, then checks on desktop and mobile before anything went live.
